Course Description
The aim of the course is to provide foreign nationals
who have come to our country for education with information about the traffic
rules, traffic laws, and legislations applicable in the TRNC.
Course Outcomes
At the end of the course, participants will have
information about the TRNC traffic rules and traffic laws, and will be able to
adapt more easily to driving in left-hand traffic.
What will I learn in this course?
At the end of the course, the course participants will
have information about the TRNC Traffic Rules and Traffic Laws (Seat Belt Law,
Road Safety Law, Legal Alcohol Limit, Cell Phone Usage Restrictions, etc.).
They will be provided information about traffic fines, and penalty points
imposed on them when they violate the traffic rules and laws and commit a
related offense. Additionally, foreign nationals receiving education in the TRNC
will be provided with information on how to legally switch their current
driving licenses to a TRNC driving license, and what they are required to do to
bring their own vehicles to the TRNC. Furthermore, they will have information
about the situation of the roads in the TRNC, driver behaviors, their own
risk-taking behaviors, and their possible consequences. Traffic accident
statistics will also be given to the participants to demonstrate the crucial
role of following traffic rules and traffic laws in ensuring road safety.

Garanti Özön 1988 yılında Lefkoşa’da doğdu. İlk, orta ve lise eğitimini KKTC’de
tamamladı. 2005 yılında Türk Maarif Koleji’nden mezun olduktan sonra, Ankara
Gazi Üniversitesi Mühendislik ve Mimarlık Fakültesi Şehir ve Bölge Planlama
Bölümü’ne devam etti. Lisans eğitiminin 3. yılını, Erasmus Öğrenci Değişim
Programı’yla Polonya’da, Silesian University of Technology’de tamamladı. Lisans
eğitimini, derece ile tamamlayarak 2009 yılında mezun oldu ve KKTC’ye döndü.
2010 yılında, Trafik Kazalarını Önleme Derneği’nde göreve başladı. 2011 yılında
İstanbul’da ‘Trafik ve Çevre Bilgisi Öğreticisi’ kursunu tamamladı. 2015
yılında Girne Amerikan Üniversitesi’nde Pedagojik Formasyon eğitimini
tamamladı. Trafik Kazalarını Önleme Derneği ve BRT işbirliğinde 5 yıldır yürütülen
Trafikoloji programında, sunucu olarak görev aldı. Derneğin yönlendirmiş
olduğu, trafikle ilgili birçok panel, çalıştay, konferans ve etkinlikte
konuşmacı olarak yer aldı. 13 yıldır aktif bir şekilde, Derneğe bağlı işletilen
Trafik Eğitim Parkı’nda, Trafik Eğitmeni olarak görev yapmakta; anasınıf,
ilkokul, ortaokul, lise ve üniversite öğrencileri ile yetişkinlere, trafik
eğitimleri vermektedir.
