Course summary
This course consists of seven modules. The first module includes the objectives of Performance Management. The second module focuses on the stages of the performance management process. The third module is performance management and strategic planning. The fourth module involves the design of a performance measurement system. The fifth module is the performance evaluation process and the importance of identifying performance problems in the workplace. The sixth module is the importance of giving and receiving feedback and the seventh is how to identify performance problems. In this course, we will see how performance management helps to regulate the activities of employees and this reduces the risks that may affect the company. In return, this increases the probability that organizational goals will be met. The objectives of this course are to promote innovation, develop critical thinking, develop the ideas, knowledge, and understanding of employers and students in the context of selected concepts, and also to provide knowledge of how to determine performance standards and expectations.
Course definition
Performance management can be described as fixed organizational activities directed at attracting, developing, and keeping an effective and efficient workforce. Thus, the effectiveness and the quality of the organization are determined by the quality of the staff who are employed. Consequently, the success of most organizations is related to whether the employees are equipped with the necessary skills that they can employ so that they can successfully perform the required tasks to attain the company’s short- and long-term strategic goals. In summary, to enable employees to achieve superior standards of work performance, performance management is compulsory.
