Course description

IELTS stands for “International English Language Testing System” and is an exam to judge English language ability. It is accepted by institutes of higher education and immigration authorities in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.


Course outcomes

At the end of this session, participants will be able to. Speaking:
  • Improve their Fluency and coherence,
  • Improve their Lexical resource,
  • Improve their Grammatical range and accuracy,
  • Improve their Pronunciation.
Writing Task 1:
  • Task achievement; Cover the requirements of the IELTS writing task 1
(Academic Training) present a clear overview of main trends, differences, or stages (General Training) present a clear purpose, with the tone consistent and appropriate, Clearly present and highlights key features/bullet points
  • Coherence and cohesion; Logically organize information and ideas; there will be a clear progression throughout, Use a range of cohesive devices appropriately
  • Lexical resource; Use a sufficient range of vocabulary to allow some flexibility and precision Use less common lexical items with some awareness of style and collocation
Writing Task 2:
  • Task response; Address all parts of the task Present a clear position throughout the response Present, extend, and support main ideas
  • Coherence and cohesion; Logically organize information and ideas; there will be clear progression throughout
Use a range of cohesive devices appropriately Present a clear central topic within each paragraph
  • Lexical resource; Use a sufficient range of vocabulary to allow some flexibility and precision Use less common lexical items with some awareness of style and collocation Grammatical range and accuracy Use a variety of complex structures
  Reading: The learners will acquire the following skills :
  • reading for gist
  • reading for main ideas
  • reading for detail
  • skimming
  • understanding logical argument and recognizing writers’ opinions, attitudes and purpose.
Learners will also practice the following question types:
  • Multiple choice,
  • Identifying information,
  • Identifying a writer’s views/claims,
  • Matching information,
  • Matching headings,
  • Matching features,
  • Matching sentence endings,
  • Sentence completion,
  • Summary, note, table, flow-chart completion,
  • Diagram label completion,
  • Short-answer questions.
Listening: Learners will acquire the ability to listen for:
  • Main ideas and detailed factual information,
  • The opinions and attitudes of speakers,
  • The purpose of an utterance,
  • development of ideas.
  They will also practice the following question types:
  • Multiple choice,
  • Matching,
  • Plan, map, diagram labeling,
  • Form, note, table, flow-chart, summary completion,
  • Sentence completion,
  • Short-answer questions.

Born in Mashhad in 1986, he studied mathematics in high school and graduated from Guilan University's Department of English Literature. She has taught English for 15 years and has attended various ESL seminars and conferences throughout her career. He has mainly trained IELTS candidates over the past five years. In 2020, Cambridge University did CELTA at Izmir International House. He attended NEU preparatory school in 2021. In 2022 he joined Near East University’s Master’s program in ELT.
