Course summary

This course is designed for "real" beginners and introduces the basics of French grammar. The course is designed to equip students with communicative French language skills for everyday situations, to help them understand phrases and common expressions related to their field of interest (introducing yourself and others, asking and answering questions about yourself, such as where you live. Interacting with others in a simple way. What you like and don't like etc. In short, through this course, students will learn how to introduce themselves and greet others; they will learn how to give and understand simple instructions, and how to ask and answer specific questions.


Course outcomes

  • Learn the four basic language skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening) according to the European Common Language Criteria.
  • Learn the skill of being able to express themselves in necessary situations in everyday life,
  • Be able to use simple statements and answer questions,
  • Write basic texts including personal details,
  • Communicate in simple and routine situations,
  • Understand sentences and words when spoken slowly,
  • Have an understanding of everyday life in the related countries.

She was born in Famagusta on the 24th of May 1995. She graduated from the Science department of Gazimağusa Türk Maarif College in 2013, which she began in 2009. The same year that she graduated, she was accepted into the İzmir 9 Eylül University Buca Education Faculty French Teaching Department. After studying a year of prep school and learning the basics of the French language, she completed her course in 4 years. She took the necessary Pedagogical Formation courses while learning the French language and culture extensively for 5 years. During her period of university education, she participated in activities such as ‘Animated Theatre Training’ and ‘French Dictation Competition’, which she could apply in foreign language classes while doing internships at different schools to improve herself. She began working at the Near East University French Department and the Near East Preschool in 2018. After attending the Stralang language courses in Strasbourg and obtaining a certificate in 2019, she began her postgraduate training at the Near East University Educational Sciences Institute Education Programs and Teaching Department. She aims to move on to her doctorate studies after completing her postgraduate education, for which she is in the process of completing her thesis. She is also the Exam Coordinator for the Common Courses Coordination of the university to which she is connected.
