Course summary 

The Conflict Resolution course starts by focusing on the reasons for the formation of conflicts within organizations followed by an examination of the causes of conflicts, along with a discussion on the different approaches and opinions regarding conflicts, as well as the temporary and permanent conflict resolution methods.


Course description

The aim of this course is to reveal the conflicts that may arise between individuals, groups, or departments within an organization, and to raise awareness on this issue for managers. The management of conflict and identification of possible organizational settings before and after the conflict along with methods of resolving conflicts will be discussed in detail.

He started his academic career in the Ankara University DTCF Librarianship Department in 1993, completed his master's degree in 2002, and his Ph.D. in Business Administration (Management and Organization) at Başkent University in 2008. On September 2nd, 2002, he co-founded the Baskent University Faculty of Communication, Department of Information and Document Management. Since September 2010, he has been working as the Head of the Information and Document Management Department in the Near East University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. In September 2012, he established a Master's and Doctorate Programme in English under the name of Innovation and Information Management at NEU, and in September 2013, he opened the Medical Documentation and Secretariat Programme as part of the Health Services Vocational School. In addition, in 2013, he was assigned to the Directorate of the Information Management Research Centre (BİYAMER) by the Founding Rector. In December 2015, he was appointed as the Director of the Institute of Social Sciences at NEU. He has provided technology and human resources service focused training programs to local governments and private sector companies, the Turkish Armed Forces, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Development of the Republic of Turkey, TODAİE and several public institutions as well as the presidency in Turkey. Sağsan has served as a referee and editor for various journals and as a member of the organization committee of international and national conferences. He has participated in various conferences in Hong Kong, Italy, Canada, Thailand, Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands, France, and many other countries within the framework of the mission of enhancing the profile of the country around the world.
