The necessary classroom behavior management techniques are covered in this course, including how to plan for time, space, and materials in the classroom as well as how to control student behavior in small and large groups, lab activities, transitions, and other basic classroom arrangements. This course will equip teachers and instructors in general with the knowledge and skills necessary to feel confident, understand and perform their professional and legal obligations not just on the first day of class but throughout the entire school year.

Plan the layout of a classroom to best
utilize the teaching tools (books, computers, manipulatives, writing supplies,
creative construction materials, bibliographies, etc.) and to make it easier
for students to access, use, maintain, and store these tools.

Manage students' performance data online
to display performance for both individual students and averages across the
entire class.

Based on successful ideas provided in
the literature, organize the physical components of a classroom (areas,
furniture, etc.) for ease of transition, use, safety, and traffic flow.

Establishing rules and procedures in the
classroom will help to foster a productive, efficient, and positive learning
environment.

Create a calendar for your classroom
that incorporates different subject areas, instructional techniques, grouping
techniques, degrees of energy consumption, etc. over long periods of time or
for the duration of a school day.
- Show that you are knowledgeable about and skilled at using affective domain-based theoretical models for (1) establishing and managing the emotional tone of a classroom, (2) managing the psycho-social environment of the classroom and individual students, and (3) managing student motivation to succeed in learning academic material, self-responsibility skills, social skills,and inter-relationship skills with other class members.
