Prof. Dr. Özge Özden
Prof. Dr.
Özge Özden was born on 01 October 1977 in Nicosia, Cyprus. After her primary
school education at Lapta Primary School, she completed her secondary and high
school education at Lapta Yavuzlar High School in 1994. Then, after graduating
from Uludağ University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Plant Protection
in 1999, she started to work as a Research Assistant at the European University
of Lefke, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Department of Horticulture in
2000. In the same year, she started her
graduate education at Çukurova University Faculty of Agriculture and received
the title of Agricultural Engineer in February 2002. Between 2004-2005, she
worked on a scientific research project with Bonn University in Germany on a
1-year full scholarship. Özge Özden completed her doctorate on
"Biodiversity" in the Department of Biological Sciences at the
University of Exeter, England, in 2009 and received the title of
"Doctor" in 2010. She completed the criteria of the Regulation on
Promotion and Appointment to Faculty Members at EUL, and received the title of
Assistant Professor. She has also been a Visiting Research Fellow at the
University of Exeter since 2009. Prof. Dr. Özge Özden has been working as a
lecturer at the Department of Landscape Architecture since 2012. She has many
scientific articles published in international journals, 46 papers presented at
international conferences, 8 papers presented at national conferences, and 4
books published separately. She has conducted 25 scientific research projects
in total that have received international support (EU, UNDP, DFG, BMZ). She is
currently a Professor of Ecology at Near East University and has been working
as the Deputy Director of the Near East University Cyprus Herbarium and Natural
History Museum since May 2019. She was appointed as the Founding Dean of the
Faculty of Agriculture in September 2021.
